2021 is here, the holidays are over, we're still practicing social distancing, and a lot of us are wondering what to do with our free-time now. Well, this upcoming weekend is an outdoor, socially distant event that will be both entertaining, and a safe open air activity!
Saturday, February 6th, the 14th annual Vintage Snowmobile Race will take place in Lisbon, NH, put on by the Lisbon Stump Jumpers Snowmobile Club.
This race is one of the 5 races making up the Lancaster Snow-Derby, and although the derby was cancelled due to lack of participation, the Vintage Races are still happening in full swing!
The races will take place next to route 302 in Lisbon NH, and will contain over 20 different classes with snowmobiles 1985 and older. The contestants will race their vintage snowmobiles on the track to earn an honorary trophy. While driving up 302, you can’t miss the crowd for this event, however if navigating with a smartphone, the closest business to the track is Dale’s Auto Body, in Lisbon, NH.
There is a $10 entrance fee, however it is free for children under 12 years old. There have previously been volunteers serving hot food and drink items, like coffee, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken fingers, etc, however this year may look a little different because of Covid.
Regardless, this event is something that the whole family can enjoy outside in the beautiful North Country of New Hampshire that will lift your spirits as well!
